Romanie Schotte (born 15 October 1997) is a Belgian model, holder of the Miss Belgium 2017 title. A representative of Belgium at the Miss Universe and Miss World 2017 competitions.

Having won the local Miss West Flanders contest, Romanie became a participant of the all-Belgian beauty contest. January 14, 2017 on the stage of the theater in the amusement park Plopsaland (De Panne) 19-year-old Schott was proclaimed Miss Belgium. She became the fourth consecutive representative of the Flemish region and the fifth girl from West Flanders, who won the title.
After the victory, Romanie Schotte came under close scrutiny of the media and the public. In particular, attention was drawn to the photo posted by the model in Instagram, where Romanie poses in public transport against the backdrop of a dark man whom Schott calls him “a nigger” in the photo’s signature. The girl and her father rejected all accusations of racism. Romanie said that, according to her father’s activities, she had often visited the African continent and had no prejudices about someone’s skin color.
The new Miss Belgium 2017 received her crown from Lenty Frans, the former Miss Belgium. Lenty Frans from Antwerp is a great example for Romanie. “She has taken great care of charity and has gone to Cambodia, I really want to do that too. I want to meet people and devote myself to others. Of course, I want to represent Belgium as well as possible”.
