Q Hair and Beauty group, the multi award winning salon group, based at Chichester, has taken pioneering steps forward in recent years in providing excellent training for the next local generation of both beauty therapists / technicians and hairdressers with their own academy fully equipped to sign off all those future professionals onto new careers.
Many years ago, a unique after-school project, the Tiger Club had been a popular initiative that owner, Anthony Barnes-Smith, had launched, being a big believer in the new generation. Ever since it’s been the basis for the salon’s very high proportion of ‘home-grown’ talent.
Director, Dawn Lawrence, who reinvented the project fifteen years ago, encourages those interested to research the industry so by the time they have the opportunity to join the business, as an apprentice, they have a real understanding of it. Now the program is to be relaunched following a short hiatus with new focus in Spring 2023 delivering more than its’ done before.
Having been fully qualified to mentor budding beauty therapists and hairdressers through the qualification process to achieve their career goals, including a modern vardering system, their academy can help make their chosen professions come alive, with a strong development plan for each individual going forward.
Affiliate, Partners 4 Hair united with the salon group to deliver the Level 2 Apprenticeship Diploma for Hair Professionals, allowing an exciting experience led program, practical in-house, theory in neighbouring Brighton.
Apprenticeships at the Q Hair and Beauty Academy offer education to an elite standard in an active working salon, providing the ideal environment for students to grow and develop their skills while building confidence in themselves and their ability for a future career in the hair or beauty industry. Overall, a huge win for the local area and since delivered new therapists already to treatment rooms and hairdressers behind chairs.
